<Online Registration> INA13 Registration Instructions
To register for this conference and to book your accommodation, please use the online registration and payment system. This includes a secure payment system which will require your credit card information. This system will be available until 28 April 2010, so please plan to register and book your hotel room by this date. Details of the registration fee and accommodation are given under the main headings on the left hand side of the top page. When using the registration system you will be able to select the events (e.g., mid-conference excursion, conference dinner, picnic) you wish to join; however, payments for these events must be made in Japanese Yen at the registration desk when you first check in. You will only pay for the INA13 registration fee and your hotel room using the online registration system.
Online Registration<Venue and General Registration>
The conference will take place on the 3rd floor of Yamagata Terrsa*, a modern well-equipped building situated close to the train station and your hotels (JPEG). The oral presentations will be held in a large room, aptly called ‘Applause’.
*Terrsa is an acronym for “town employees’ relax, refresh and social amenity”.
The registration desk will be situated in an ‘L’-shaped space called the ‘Foyer’ next to ‘Applause’. There will be two registration desks situated next to each other, one for general registration and general enquiries (INA13) and another where you can pay for INA13-related events and ask travel-related questions (JR East).
The foyer will also be the site of the exhibition booths (e.g. MicroAlgae, J-DESC, TMS), coffee breaks, and poster presentations.
<Icebreaker Party>
The icebreaker party will be held in Yamagata Terrsa, on the 5th September (Sunday) between 6-8 pm. The exact location will be announced later after the number of participants is known.
<Conference dinner>
The conference dinner will be held at the Hotel Metropolitan, located in the train station, where some of you may be staying. It will be an informal buffet style (‘viking-style’*) dinner, during which you can walk around the various tables and stalls to pick up food items. The cost of the dinner (6,000 JPY)** also includes all of your drinks.
*it’s often called a ‘viking-style’ meal in Japan, in reference to the ‘Imperial Viking’ (located in the Imperial Hotel, Tokyo) ? a buffet-style restaurant which opened in 1953 and first introduced this smorgasbord-style of dinner to customers in Japan.
**This cost may be reduced if we can get enough sponsorship.
